Born in Bulgaria and raised in Los Angeles, Ivaylo Getov resides in Brooklyn, NY living the gypsy lifestyle of a freelance Cinematographer. In 2009, he graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU with a BFA in Film and a minor in Philosophy, as well as studying in Cuba at the University of Havana and with the Ludwig Foundation, where he completed a short experimental documentary. As a cinematographer, he has earned credits on numerous shorts, music videos, and documentaries as well as shooting films and photo essays across three continents and countless countries.

NYU New Visions and Voices Festival

The screening times have been announced for NYU’s Intermediate Film Festival, “New Visions and Voices.”  Click here for a full schedule and info.  The festival is free and open to the public. All screenings will take place at 721 Broadway in Screening Room 006.

I’ve got two films screening on Friday, April 17.  “The Night Doorman” will screen during the 4:30 block, and my cuba documentary “Untitled(Havana)” will screen in the 6:00pm block.

Additionally, there are a couple of films screening that I shot -  “Peas and Carrots,” by Yu Li is playing Friday at 3:00pm.  “Under the House,” by Anthony Morrison, is playing Saturday at 1:30.

There are a lot of really awesome short films playing.  You should come.  Send me an email if you think you’ll be stopping by.
