Born in Bulgaria and raised in Los Angeles, Ivaylo Getov resides in Brooklyn, NY living the gypsy lifestyle of a freelance Cinematographer. In 2009, he graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts at NYU with a BFA in Film and a minor in Philosophy, as well as studying in Cuba at the University of Havana and with the Ludwig Foundation, where he completed a short experimental documentary. As a cinematographer, he has earned credits on numerous shorts, music videos, and documentaries as well as shooting films and photo essays across three continents and countless countries.

My big photo organization project continues! (See previous post) The earlier estimate of 14,000 was pretty far off.  I’m currently at 21,741 images (hopefully nearing the end).  The point of this whole exercise was to get my ducks in a row in order to redo and simplify my website.  On top of that, since my focus is cinematography and the new website will almost exclusively showcase that material, I am turning this blog to a place where all my unused photographs can spill over and be shared with friends. I’m going to try to post original work more frequently, and hopefully an ocasional shot from a cool set I’m working on.  If you want to download and keep any of the photos on your computer, you are welcome to do so, just please don’t print them out.  If you want a print of anything, please send me an email and we can work something out.
